Trilibis Mobile makes Local.com mobile
May 23, 2007
On the heels of the launch of Ask Mobile GPS, leading local search engine Local.com has introduced its own mobile search product, powered by Trilibis Mobile. Local.com is not quite as famous as its local search competitors, all of whom also have some mobile products, including Yahoo, AOL, InfoSpace, MapQuest and Google Local. But Local.com has earned high marks for its accuracy. Mobile consultant TeleMapics calls Local.com the “most relevant local search engine”. Digital research firm ComScore named Local.com the fastest growing local search engine, consistently among the Top 100 websites.
Local.com’s patent-pending Keyword DNA and local web indexing technologies present special offers from local businesses, user reviews, local website links, maps, and driving directions. Businesses can advertise on Local.com with subscription, pay-per-click, banner and pay-per-call ad products. The product allows users to send listings to mobile phone via SMS, use click-to-call features, and save recent searches.
Partner Trilibis Mobile’s SmartPath Technology simplifies the process of turning web products into mobile products which work with every major carrier and 90% of mobile handsets. Clients can update or modify content and deploy changes instantaneously. SmartPath powers Obopay, which allows subscribers to use any mobile phone to get, send, or spend money. The company is doing particularly well with mobile social communities such as Webdate Mobile, an already successful dating website for whom they launched mobile functionality in 2003. The service grew 800% the next year.
